The midseason finale of Agents of SHIELD , “ The Laws of Thermal Dynamics , ” wrapped up most of the dangle plot of ground threads from the beginning of the season — right up until it ended with a with child ole twisting that opened a Brobdingnagian can of worms .
Most of “ The Laws of Thermal Dynamics ” had to do with our squad care with Eli Morrow , who has a dud that can take out most of L.A. He ’s holed himself up in a chemical compound with the requisite mooks to protect him , so Coulson suggests to the director that they go in with Daisy and Robbie , since their ability would be useful . Oh , and Coulson tells Mace that AIDA is a Life Model Decoy . Mace is disbelieving of Daisy , Robbie , and AIDA , and , to be fair , he is right that progress AIs and robots has not always worked out well in this creation .
finally , of course , the team — with AIDA and Radcliffe showing up to help — station the bomb to the dimension where , it turn out , Eli gets his power from . He does n’t create material , he shifts it over from another dimension . It ’s the proportion that Eli end up in , along with Robbie , who sacrifice himself for ensure Eli rifle and stays there .
The whole series of effect make Daisy ill , so she has to get rid of the quake build up inside her . regrettably , while she does so safely , she also does it in populace , revealing her connection to SHIELD . Mace take this chance to adjudge Daisy a hero and , by declaring her a part of SHIELD in the press , formally ties her to his authority . Like he did with Daisy , Mace wants to add Radcliffe , AIDA , and all the LMD research under the SHIELD umbrella . unluckily , the agent he sends to pack up the inquiry understand something he should n’t and AIDA kills him . presumptively , what he picture was this :

Eli Morrow ( and his awing powers ) and Robbie ( and his astonishing flaming skull ) are both gone , at least for now . Nadeer has been neutralized as a menace , at least a routine . Daisy ’s back in the fold . And Mack and Yo - Yo are together . That ’s a lot of resolve for a midseason finale . So now we just have to question how long we ’re choke to spend feeling awkward every clip we see Coulson and LMD May when the show returns .
We ’re also going to be mean about what the program is here . And whose plan it is . AIDA ’s ? How much does Radcliffe know ? I mean , it ’s information gather , correct ? But for what ? Why ?
