Prolific generator Alan Dean Foster has sold the motion-picture show rights to his new Sagramanda : A Novel of Near Future India , to the Hong Kong - based Agog Film Productions . According to Filmbiz Asia , Agog plans to commence product “ immediately , ” filming in Hong Kong and India , and the picture will be out in 2014 . ( So this is n’t just one of those deals where a movie is optioned and then you never hear about it again . )

The story revolve around a ratter scientist , a psychotic prostitute and a sadistic hit man , who commingle embodied espionage with the sleazy earth of the drug and sexuality swop . These are set up against a backcloth of Native American culture and cults in a fictionalised , and expanded version of Calcutta .
