A few months after that , Lucasfilm United States President Kathleen Kennedy reconfirm Waititi ’s project , calling it a“fresh , unique , and unexpected”movie in the franchise and revealeda silly - depend purple logo .
Now , from all of that , one would wait Waititi had some world-wide gumption of what the motion-picture show was going to be about . peradventure not a full script but a pitch , an outline , an melodic theme . Something that would make Kennedy tell mass who own Disney stock that it ’s “ fresh , alone , and unexpected . ” And yet , in recent month , the only thing that ’s unexpected is the fact Waititi reach it sound like there ’s no melodic theme at all .
Ina new interview with Rolling Stone , the director ofthis calendar week ’s Thor : Love and Thunderwas asked about the trend of Star Wars projects being abandon and the answer was interesting . “ Might happen to me , ” Waititi exclaimed . “ And I cerebrate Taika [ of ] 10 years ago would be so panicked and nervous at the prospect of that . But if it ’s not right-hand , it ’s not right . If it ’s not ready , it ’s not ready . [ With ] Star Wars , I do n’t want to cannonball along . It ’s something I would n’t need to just leap into and not find that it ’s unique , it ’s my film , and it take in sentiency . Because that would be a catastrophe . I ’m writing at the second . So I ’m gon na do my honorable to come up with an idea that everyone loves . ”

So , wait , there is n’t an idea ? See where the confusion is ? It amaze even eldritch when you recall , a few weeks back , Waititi likewise duck his stake by explaining that he wanted to do something young with the enfranchisement , but did n’t quite know what it would be . “ Look , I think for the Star Wars universe to expand , it has to expand,”he said to Total Film . “I do n’t think that I ’m any usage in the Star Wars universe wee a film where everyone ’s like , ‘ Oh neat , well that ’s the blueprint to the Millennium Falcon , ah that ’s Chewbacca ’s grandmother . ’ That all put up alone , that ’s bully , though I would like to take something new and make some new characters and just expand the populace , otherwise it feel like it ’s a very modest story . ”

Are these quotes just Waititi ’s way of set us off the scent ? Is it potential this projection get going the way of the Rian Johnson trilogy , Colin Trevorrow ’s Episode 9 , or Phil Lord and Chris Miller ’s Solo ?
