While speaking with PEOPLE at the launch ofEva Chen’s new kidswear collaboration with H&M in New York City earlier this month, the mom of three recalled a moment she recently “started to spiral” when her flight was canceled from Los Angeles back to New York City.
“It was a journey getting home from L.A. and it took way longer than it should have,” she said. “My flight kept on getting delayed and delayed and then eventually, canceled.”
Graham said that while everyone in her family kept “cool, calm and collected” throughout the travel disaster, she “started to spiral.”
“I started crying. I knew I only had one day to see [my kids]. And as a mom, when you’re planning out your time to see your children, every minute matters.”

Earlier this summer, Graham told PEOPLE at the Clase Azul National Tequila Day Dinner thatmom life came with “frequent breakdowns.”
“I mean, the idea of balance, I wish it existed. What I do is I have these in-depth conversations with myself and my husband about — I have set up my kids so that when I’m home, I’m home and I’m locked in,” she shared.
It’s important for the busy mom to know that while she is out and about working, “they’re being taken care of and that they’re in the best hands.”
“And that’s all I can do because I would go crazy if I didn’t have a purpose outside of that and for myself,” she shared. “My mom would stay-at-home mom, and we were her purpose and she loved it. And I’m so grateful that she spent all that time with us. But for me, I waited to have kids on purpose because my career really meant something for me, and I’m glad I did.”
