Nintendo ’s follow-up to the much search - after NES - theme nostalgia boxful was sure to sell out quick . But the toilsome part was fetch Best Buy to take my money , and it turns out I was far from the only one with issues .

Back in November , pre - sales for the NES Classic make do tocrash Amazon . And earlier this class , some Nintendo Switch purchase weremissing tracking computer code . The SNES Classic even went up ( briefly ) on Walmart ’s site due to a “ technical glitch ” in July . as luck would have it , Best Buy ’s SNES Classic pre - sales event did n’t have these event . unluckily , the store ’s website instead refused to ship to the addresses of many potential buyers and spat back error claiming no memory within 250 geographical mile were available for pickup orders .
After being state my home address was a no - go and endeavor to put in pickup order for Best Buy positioning in Manhattan , Queens , or Brooklyn at least a dozen times , I tried the Gizmodo offices . 2 West 17th was decline , but 114 5th avenue was accepted , despite these being two entrances to the same building .
About an hour after ordering , Best Buy post me a confirmation email . Many others , it appears , were not so lucky :
