Disney parks around the world have had unofficial days where members of the LGBTQ community flow in to celebrate their diverse identities, but the corporation hasn’t widely sanctioned Pride festivities — until now.
Event attractions include a parade, a dance party with live performances and Disney characters “out and about” — and hopefully wearing their rainbow best. There are alsospecial packages for members of the LGBTQ community, as well as friends and family.
Other Disney parks have hosted “unofficial” Pride events in the past. Those included a parade through Disneyland in Anaheim, which was so popular that when it ended, the citywide Gay Day Anaheim took over,The Points Guy reports. Gay Days this year, which many still choose to celebrate at Disneyland, are Oct. 4–6.
Disney World in Orlando, Florida, also hosts unofficial Gay Days, and this year, they will be held from Aug. 13–19. In the past, the event has been in early June, when many of the rest of the nation’s Pride celebrations take place. The Wyndham Orlando Resort on International Drive is this year’s official host.

And of course, none of these celebrations would be complete without a pair of red — the color Gay Day attendees usually wear — and rainbow Mickey ears. The popular hats, which are called Mickey Mouse Rainbow Love,first went on sale in April 2018. They’re an in-park exclusive and retail for $17.99.
