Hey , my friend Joel J. from BBoing and Steve “ I calculate like a Conchord ” Leckart from Cool Tools are blogging and doing trial run - by - fire test runs of gadget in the wild . Joel is in Bear Mountain , NY , and Steve is pretending to be somewhere but actually in his position . ( I hope he is setting up a collapsible shelter in his living room at least . ) They ’ve got solar and energizing battery chargers , and have had some challenge , but have been somewhat successful at using cellular connections and battery sipping devices .
