Brian Murray ’s construct art help set up a Green Lantern motion picture . But his other artwork let in this fantastic alien prison , for a David Twohy film … plus a far different reinvention of Star Trek than J.J. Abrams ’ .
We talked to Murray about his work , and he deal some of his ongoing projects with us . Here ’s a gallery of some of his work , past and present :
The awing exotic prison house satellite and alien warrior images come from a pitch software that Murray helped David Twohy ( Chronicles Of Riddick ) put together . According Murray , Twohy wrote a handwriting

anticipate “ 100 Days From Now ” , a remake of “ The Great Escape ” , but with an foreign occupation here on Earth . The “ Alien Prison ” , “ Alien Warrior ” , and “ Alien Commandant ” images are all part of that pitch that he sold to the studio apartment for another music director .
As far as Murray knows , that pitch has been shelved for now .
Meanwhile , Murray ’s no longer require with the Green Lantern film , now that co - writer Greg Berlanti is n’t on board to mastermind . ( It ’s passed over to Casino Royale ’s Martin Campbell ) . Instead , Murray ’s working on Scott Derrickson ’s reimagining of Milton ’s Paradise Lost , with a script by Stuart Hazeltine . In case you miss them , here are those GL paradigm again :

So what about that Star Trek placard , “ To Boldly Go , ” featuring – of all people – Thomas Jane as Captain Kirk ? That ’s not an actual moving-picture show pitch , it ’s just some art Murray created for playfulness , reimagining the franchise before J.J. Abrams ’ film even came about . He explains :
It really came about when I saw the silly , but entertaining , “ Deep Blue Sea ” with Tom Jane and Sam Jackson ( it features one of my favorite picture show expiry tantrum ever ) . Throughout Jane ’s performance in the lead role , I saw so much of William Shatner ’s Kirk from the TV series , brusk of the signature striking intermission , that I recall he ’d be a perfect recast for Kirk , if a remaking were to ever find . So when I had some metre between jobs , I thought I ’d have some playfulness reforge the serial for a new flick . I really like the thought of Ian McShane as McCoy , but I ’m such a fan of his from Deadwood , I could roam him in anything .
You may have noticed the intent of their tunics is a mix of DS9 / Next Gen jacket with the Classic insignia as a comm badge and a definitive tunic underneath . On the Enterprise , I used NCC-1701 - A ’s body style but plate it with the more industrial grain of Archer ’s go-ahead .

There ’s also some gracious Battlestar Galactica devotee art .
There are also some images fromMurray ’s pitch for a Superman Elseworlds comic , “ Immortality Crisis , ” which he says is on DC Comics supremo Dan DiDio ’s desk right on now .
And the image called “ Sprout ” and “ Birth ” are from a story call Cascade , which Murray has save up in pitch form . It ’s about a strange telling works that pullulate up in the garden of Laura Shepard , a untried woman who ’s just found out she ’s infertile . As the blossom grows , it finally open up up to bring out a baby missy , bring up Cascade , or Cassy . unluckily , another home also find a flush , which gives birth to an vicious child . Murray enjoin he ’s just wreak out a book wad with a major comics society for Cascade , but ca n’t expose any details yet .

Also on the sensible horizon , besides the Paradise Lost thing , are some oeuvre for one of the CSI show , and Monk .
