On Wednesday , the CEO of intellectual nourishment delivery site Grubhub air outa company - widely emailcondemning the “ nationalist , anti - immigrant and mean ” beliefs of President - elect Donald Trump and encouraging any employees who disagreed to quit .
“ I absolutely reject the nationalist , anti - immigrant and hateful political relation of Donald Trump and will operate to shield our community from this movement as best as I can , ” wrote Matt Maloney , who co - constitute the company . “ If you do not agree with this statement then please reply to this email with your surrender because you have no place here . We do not stomach mean attitudes on our team . ”
In the same email , Maloney said that Trump ’s recitation of “ demeaning , insulting , and make fun nonage , immigrant , and the physically / mentally disabled ” would have led to his prompt termination if he had worked at Grubhub .
“ I require to be clean-cut that this behavior — and these views , have no blank space at Grubhub , ” wrote Maloney . “ We have play for twelvemonth cultivating a culture of support and inclusiveness . I firmly believe that we must bring together dissimilar perspectives to extend innovating — including all genders , races , ethnicities and intimate , cultural or idealogical penchant . ”

I would never make such a demand . To the contrary , the message of the email is that we do not permit discriminatory activity or hateful commentary in the workplace , and that we will stand up for our employee .
Grubhub receive and assume employee with all political impression , no matter who they voted for in this or any election . We do not separate on the groundwork of someone ’s principles , or political or other beliefs .
I deep respect the right of all citizen to vote for the candidate of their choice . In fact , I offer extra flexibleness on Tuesday and encouraged all our employees to go vote . There is a place for all points of view at Grubhub . We esteem various perspectives and believe those perspectives facilitate to make a better product and a better work culture .
Maloney ’s critic , however , did not come out to be terribly convince by the “ clearing ” and stay on to promote the#boycottgrubhubhashtag on societal medium .
