Halloween Killsfeatured a slew of nod to the 1978 original Halloween , bringing backcharacters from that groundbreaking filmto canvass how the retiring 40 years have treated them . But one sports fan - favorite character did n’t make the cut , for obvious reasons : Lynda , played by P.J. Soles , who meets her dying at the hands of Michael Myers while talking to her faithful booster Laurie Strode ( Jamie Lee Curtis ) on the speech sound .
In a young audience withYahoo Entertainment , Soles looks back at some of her formative film ( and partake in an anecdote about almost being honk in Star Wars ) . Of Halloween , she recalls not wanting Lynda to buy the farm because she was having such a good time making the movie . “ I cognize it was my last scene , so as I ’m settle out of frame , I just keep grunting . John [ Carpenter ] had to say ‘ Cut , ’ because I would n’t hold back ! I did n’t want it to end . That was three weeks of gross joy . Jamie was 19 , and Nancy Loomis [ who play Annie ] was the same age I was . We all looked so young back then . Lynda was a great persona to play because I was a square - A student and I for sure did n’t fume or have any boyfriends . So it was gratifying to to play her . ”
Nick Castle — who returned to play Michael Myers for key moment in Halloween Kills — was the world behind the masquerade party for Soles ’ death scene . “ He was tickling my neck with the speech sound corduroy for the first take . We did three takes , ” sole recalled . “ For the first two takes , at least , I ’m not very undecomposed for dying . I kept telling Nick , ‘ You ’re going to have to pull up a little close . ’ He was like , ‘ I do n’t require to hurt you , ’ and I enjoin , ‘ You ’re not going to hurt me . I ’m suppose to buy the farm and you ’re tickling my cervix ! ’ So he did it a little intemperately . I did have to act a passel of that . ”

sol did have something to say about the fact that Lynda touch her doomsday after put one across around with her boyfriend — who also fall victim to Michael ’s homicidal fashion . It ’s a story choice that soon became a slasher - movie trope . “ I ’d rather be known as the girl who says ‘ whole , ’ all the time , ” she said . “ [ We were ] really just in effect kids . We were just goofing around ! We did n’t merit that . ”
