Heidi Montag Prattmade national headlines in 2009 when she underwent a staggering 10 cosmetic procedures in one day. Now, the formerHillsstar, 37, is reflecting on theinfamous plastic surgery overhauland how it impacted her career at the time.

During a recent appearance on PageSix’sVirtual Reali-Teapodcast, Montag recalled how difficult it was specifically getting “part of my chin sawed off.”

At the time, the then 23-year-old turned to late plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Ryan for a chin reduction, breast augmentation, brow lift, liposuction, rhinoplasty, facial fat injections, and to get her ears pinned back, among other procedures.

“At the time, my surgeon was like, ‘Oh, it will be a quick recovery, a few months.’ And it took me over a year to heal, so I could barely talk [with] my jaw,” she said on the show. “I just had part of my chin sawed off. It was really a lot just dealing with that.”

Montag had the slew of cosmetic surgeries just before production picked up for the sixth and final season ofThe Hills, which she starred in alongside husbandSpencer Pratt.

“I was just in such an immense amount of pain,” she added.

Additionally, Montag recalled her near-death experience during the surgeries when she was allegedly given the incorrect dose of the opioid Demerol for pain relief.

Although she said the surgeries were “obviously [her] choice,” she admitted that she wasn’t “aware of the repercussions” at the time.

“We had to have nurses at the house for months to help me recover,” she said on the podcast.

“So we’re dealing with that and then we have these producers like, ‘Say this and that.’ And we’re like, ‘We can’t do this,’” Montag added, noting that her and Pratt ultimately had to pull out of filmingThe Hillshalfway through season 6.
