The actor, 56, posted a touchingmessageto his 29-year-old daughter,Corinne Foxx, on Instagram on Monday, in honor of herengagement to boyfriend Joe Hooten. Alongside a series of black-and-white photos of the couple, Jamie reflected on the special connection he’s witnessed between his daughter and future son-in-law.
“You are a perfect example of what being in love is… You care about each other’s life mental and physical… and you have each other’s back… congratulations on your engagement…” he wrote to the pair.

In a special shout-out to Corinne, Jamie expressed his joy that his daughter has found her perfect match in Hooten.
“And @corinnefoxx you have… and have always had a special place in my heart… you deserve love abundantly… so again congratulations you two… can’t wait to walk you down that isle [sic],” he wrote. “@corinnefoxx you have a great soul in @joe.hooten. I LOVE YOU BOTH DEARLY.”

For the Oscar winner, escorting his daughter down the aisle at her upcoming wedding will likely be doubly emotional, as he recently shared thathe was unable to walkfollowing hishealth scarein April.
“I want to thank everybody. I’ve been through something. I’ve been through some things,” Jamie said as made his first public appearance since the medical emergency to accept the Vanguard Award for his performance inThe Burial.
“It’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago. I couldn’t actually walk too….," he added at the Dec. 4 event, visibly choked up.

Corinne announced her engagement onInstagramon Sunday, sharing the same black-and-white photos as her father did. “From the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever 💍❤️,” she wrote of her new fiancé.
Though it’s unclear when their relationship began, the two both attended the University of Southern California and met in 2018, according toPage Six. Corinne featured Hooten on her Instagram for the first time in September 2019, posting a photo of the pair at a horse stable.
“Spent the weekend with a couple of studs 💕🐴🏔,” she quipped in her caption at the time.
According to aCoverfly profile, Hooten is an award-winning writer-director and television executive who is “passionate about telling emotional, provocative stories about socioeconomic classism.”
