On PresidentDonald Trump‘s schedule this past weekend? Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference and tweeting about his denuclearization summit with North Korea, which ended abruptly last week without a deal.
On Saturday, Trump spoke at CPAC, where he gave remarks that went on for over two hours,NPR reported. In his speech, Trump criticizedspecial counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, and he mocked the Green New Deal, a series of progressive policy proposals to combat climate change.
During his Saturday speech, Trump veered off-course, at one point referring to the Congressional Democrats’ oversight efforts and the Mueller investigation as “bulls—,” according to NPR andCNN.
“You put the wrong people in a couple of positions and they leave people for a long time that shouldn’t be there, and all of a sudden, they’re trying to take you out with bulls—,” he said.

“They fight so hard on this witch hunt, this phony deal they put together,” he added. “This phony thing that now looks like it’s dying. So they don’t have anything on Russia. There’s no collusion, so now they morph into, let’s inspect every deal he has ever done.”
On Sunday, Trump tweeted that his former attorney Michael Cohen’stestimony before Congress on Wednesdaymay have been partially to blame for the collapse of the North Korea denuclearization talks.
Cohen — formerly the president’s longtime fixer, who now says he disgraced himself remaining in Trump’s service — testified publicly that Trump is a “racist,” “con man” and “cheat” who engaged in criminal conduct during both the 2016 presidential campaign and his presidency.
Trump and Congressional Republicans have dismissed Cohen, arguing he lacks character and credibility.

While Cohen was speaking, the president was in Hanoi, Vietnam, fora summit with the North Korean dictator. Trump left Vietnam abruptly on Thursday after failing to make a deal with Kim Jong-un regarding the country’s nuclear weapons program,CNN reported.
On Twitter,Trump claimedCohen was possibly to blame.
“For the Democrats to interview in open hearings a convicted liar & fraudster, at the same time as the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea, is perhaps a new low in American politics and may have contributed to the ‘walk,’ ” he wrote, appearing to refer to his walk away from Kim. “Never done with a president is overseas. Shame!”
Trump also discussed the North Korean summit in his CPAC speech.
“I had to walk, because every once in a while you have to walk,” he said. “Because the deal wasn’t a deal that was acceptable to me.”
