Whoopi Goldbergwasn’t too happy when an audience member took a moment to recordThe Viewon Tuesday.
During a conversation about former presidentDonald Trump’s ongoing legal issues, the EGOT winner interrupted co-hostSunny Hostinto address a man sitting in the stands at the live ABC News show.
“Hold on a sec, hold on,” Goldberg, 68, said, getting up from her seat.
“Sir, I have to stop you with the camera, ‘cause I can see you,” she calmly and politely told the man. “So do me a favor, don’t pull it out again.”

The man, who was not seen, could be heard responding to Goldberg, though his dialogue was unintelligible to audiences at home.
Regardless, what he was saying appeared to please Goldberg. “I appreciate that. Thank you,” she said, before returning to the table.
Goldberg’s other co-hosts —Sara Haines,Joy BeharandAlyssa Farah Griffin— all turned their heads to watch the interaction the comedian had with the audience member. They had not noticed what was happening, as only Goldberg was facing him.
“What was he doing?” Behar, 81, asked as Goldberg was coming back.
“Recording,” Haines, 46, said.
PEOPLE reached out to a rep forThe Viewfor comment, but audience members are told during pre-show that they’re not allowed to take pictures or record video during the entirety of the taping of talk shows.
A source on the scene told PEOPLE Tuesday the audience member Goldberg was speaking to stayed to enjoy the rest of the show.

After pushing back, Behar teased, “Whoopi is not in the mood today for your shenanigans!”
